Wines

We process perfectly ripe grapes into first-class wines. Short maceration periods and long maturation on yeasts are the fundamental principles of our winemaking.

Our quality classification is based on three levels. The Bodenschätze Gutswein series forms the basic quality, above it are the Bodenschätze Lagenweine and the top is the Bodenschätze Maximum range.

Lagenweine

Bodenschätze Gutsweine

Here in Wallhausen there are four entirely different types of terroir. Gravel, slate, clay and Rotliegendes, these four soil types allow us to find the right character for each wine, which really brings out the natural bouquet of the wines. We grow Riesling, Pinot Gris, Pinot Blanc, Pinot Noir, Silvaner, Scheurebe, Sauvignon Blanc and Gewürztraminer on these types of soil.
Ortsweine

Bodenschätze Lagenweine

We grow Riesling in the top locations Wallhäuser Johannisberg, Wallhäuser Felseneck and Sommerlocher Steinrossel. These wines are grown exclusively on their respective sites and reflect the character and mineral notes of the local soil.

Bodenschätze Maximum

The highest quality category of our wines is called Maximum. In these wines, maximum quality is achieved by reducing the yield to a minimum. Only the best and ripest grapes are considered good enough to be processed into our Maximum wines.
Our wines can be found in well-stocked wine shops and in our online shop but you are also welcome to visit our winery in person.
